Question: HOW DO YOU BURN A DVD WITHOUT A REGIONAL CODE???
"I just received a family wedding DVD from Europe. When I try to watch it on my DVD player, it's blocked because of the regional code.Does anyone know how I can copy the DVD WITHOUT the regionalcode, so I can finally watch it over here in the States via my Xbox 360.Thanks a lot!"
DVD region code is a digital rights management technique mainly for controlling DVD content, release date and price by the distributors.
Here is a list of DVD regions and their ranges of application (countries):
Region 1 (R1): U.S.A., U.S. Territories and Canada.
Region 2 (R2): Europe, Japan, the Middle East, Egypt, South Africa, Greenland.
Region 3 (R3): Taiwan, Korea, the Philippines, Indonesia, Hong Kong.
Region 4 (R4): Mexico, South and Central America, Australia, New Zealand, Pacific Islands, Caribbean
Region 5 (R5): Russia, Eastern Europe, India, Africa (excluding South Africa), North Korea, Mongolia
Region 6 (R6): China
If you play a certain region DVD in other regions, it can not be played and a "This disc is not formatted to play in this region." hint will pop up automatically on the screen. Then how to get rid of the annoying DVD region code for playable DVD movies on Xbox 360?
